I finally just finished reading the book that i was supposed to read which was the All I Ask i thought it was going to be super duper sexual but it was not instead it was really good and sometimes cheesy but it really liked it. I found myself like getting up in the middle of the night to read my book with a flashlight. This is honestly a good book, I enocourage everyone to read it. The next book that i am planning to read is called Unexpected Mr. Right and i am going to be comparing the two.
I agree with you, All I Ask is a good book. Especially when I first started reading it I couldn't put the book down. But as I got farther along into the book I began to notice that its very common. The plot line of the book is very average, when it comes to the average black romance story. What made the book good for me was that it was easy to relate to, when it comes to hearing stories about black women getting hurt and how they overcame it. So I encourage people to read this book, if they want to learn more about how black romance can work.

I agree with Serena I thought “All I Ask” was an excellent book until I got to the middle. When I first start reading the book I was just waiting and anticipating for the romance to start, and when it finally did start to happen in the middle of the book I found this book to be very traditional. In Black Romance novels there is typically a formula that all authors follow; A bitter black woman angry at men because of a past relationship, then she meets a good man that she acts like she doesn’t like, he chases after the bitter Black woman, they fall in love and get married. While reading “All I Ask” for I started to see this formula which really made me just want to throw the book away because there was nothing that the author Barbara Keaton did that really made her stand out as an author. Hopefully in our next book “Unexpected Mr. Right” a biracial romance book I will not see this typical Black Romance formula.
